Today SIDART Team went to Sambhariya Panchayat, to meet the community, and taking part into holding the Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Committee meetings (VHSNC) , that should be set once every month.
VHSNC have been set up in the past few years within the frame of the National Health Mission overseen by the Ministry of Health, and Family Welfare.
VHSNC should be inclusive: SC, ST, women, ward members, but also NGO members.
This is the reason why SIDART went to Sambhariya Panchayat, and decided to bring them a support in holding VHSNC meetings.
VHSNC can be the initiators of village sanitation, cleanliness campaigns, schools health activities, and even provide emergency transport if needed for the poorest patients.
These committees are both a place to be provided informing on governmental initiatives or programmes, and a place of meeting and exchange between the community itself, and medical professionals too.
VHSNC is a real key-body for any community in Indian rural areas.
And SIDART along with Hanns Seidel Foundation, is proud and honored to take a valuable part in this.
